Heavy fighting along the Fulda-Frankfurt axis has followed the stalled the Soviet thrust against CENTAG as both sides seek to regain advantage in this critical sector.
The US V Corps has suffered heavy casualties and is reported to be running low on tanks and ammunition. Reporters claim to have seen long convoys of ambulances carrying wounded to hospitals near the French border.
The Soviet 8th Guards Army is believed to have been rendered largely combat ineffective, while the commitment of the 1stย Guards Tank Army has failed to create a breakthrough despite heavy casualties.
Despite the mauling both sides have received, there seems to be no indication of a slacking in the tempo of combat in this sector.
He thinks we’ve run out of reserves… O.o

Well, consdiering most of us Soviet commanders are from the Soviet Union, you’ve got a long way to go til you get to Moscow. But feel free to visit with the local KGB office in Leipzig after your attack stall there, I’m sure they’d love to give you a guided tour all the way back to the Motherland.
And I think they have run out of reserves, it’s a last gasp for them at the Ruhr, we will beat them back and beat them to their homes. Onwards to Berlin
Looks like my leopards have been savaging the Reds. Great work men

Bold.
But bold without success is foolhardy.

Shouldn’t those troops that were at the Soviet border a few weeks ago be getting to East Germany… about now… ๐
Examine the map, comrades. The enemy confidently advances up the plain between the Saale and the Elbe, expecting us to turn the First Guards Tank Army into reverse and refight the battles of Jena and Auerstadt on his terms. But The enemy has stuck his head into our trap, just as the 8th Guards Tank Army crosses the Elbe at Praha and the 7th crosses the Elbe at Dresden. To the north, the Third East German Corps and Fifth East German Corps with the FD Wacht Regiment shall bar the door to Berlin while 13th Combined Arms Army falls in on their eastern flank. Instead of Jena, we shall give them Leipzig. The stage is set for the Second Battle of Leipzig, and our enemy’s III US Corps is about to experience the righteous wrath of the Russian fighting man, much as Napoleon did there 172 years ago. All that is necessary is the East Germans fight as did their great General, Vatti Blycher, and the enemy will be lucky to escape with one tank in three.
Yeah, we continue to feed US forces into this area, whilst the British Army seems to be entirely ignored…
Tis but a minor setback for the glorious cause of our liberation of western Europe.
Pity they seem to have snuck around the flank on us… Nevertheless, we shall pound them!
The strategic maskirovka has worked, as NATO continues to feed forces into the fight here, leaving themselves open and weak in the north!
