Firestorm: Red Thunder

The Team Yankee Global Campaign

The commander of the British Army of the Rhine, General Sir Mark Nisbet, GCB, MC & Bar, has authorised the release of previously classified information on the Territorial Army and Commonwealth troops making up part of the newly-formed II Corps.

This briefing, penned by the hand of the General himself, allows players to field these troops for the last stages of the campaign (closing out on 22 September).

I hope BF let’s you clean it up, and particularly put the wedge in for the older stuff. With the Americans finally getting M60s, it seems that British/Danish Centurions and West German M48A2G2 would be logical immediate additions via PDF.

  • Bosje says:

Looks interesting, I’ll suggest it to my British opposition

  • M. Nisbet says:

@Bayankhan, The thought did go through my mind, but only after submitting the document. Permission was only granted last week and I rushed it a little to get it out. If Battlefront allow me to clean it up and revise it for the next Campaign, you’ll probably see Centurions and other pieces of kit from the back catalogue.

Excellent work, but puzzled as to why you don’t include Centurions as an option. There was only one Chieftain Battalion in the Home Army, IIRC but UK still had Centurions in WR and could have fielded them as divisional tank battalions.

  • M. Nisbet says:

A typo has been spotted already:

The Ghurkas were most likely dropped onto the battlefield by Westland Wessex helicopters, not Gazelles. Gazelles were scout copters. So, sorry for that one, guys.

2 platoons of Gurkhas!!!!!!! I see nasty assaults in their future!!!!!

  • CrazyIvan17 says:

Very cool, a nice addition to the campaign!

  • M. Nisbet says:

@Saber6, the Saxons aren’t available from Battlefront, and British High Command have deemed them non combat worthy. They deploy their men on the front line, before retiring.

  • Michael Mosgaard says:

Very interesting and a cool read, well done!

  • K. Meyer says:

Oh, my…..I have the ANZAC’s from Vietnam!! This is cool and must try them out, Thanks, Nisbet!

  • Anton Nikolayevich Sokolov says:

Very cool, might see if I can con my opponent into letting me try some of these after the campaign is over.

  • HMS_Belfast says:

Maybe Milan and light mortart teams should be assault 5+ when their parent unit is assault 4+? Apart from that, well done! We need every damn colonial we can afford down there!

  • Saber6 says:

    Saxons would be nice
