We are doing quick missions and we rolled number 5 - Recon in force, using 30 pts.
The army lists can be found on the right for both us bundled into one :)
For those that havn't played the mission its the following:
Hold any 3 objectives to win in the beginning of your turn or hold the middle objective and any other on the map. So getting to the middle is very important for a quick win!
We set up our armies and rolled for who goes first, today it was Pelikanens turn!
Yellow stars = Destroyed
Red star, yellow border = Bailed Out.
Red Lines = Shooting
Alright everyone, that was the end of the third part of the tale!
I do hope you enjoyed it and if I do get around I will try and do another one if I can find a reason to make one ;) I hear Hof Corridor and Niederbayern needs some help :P
We played all these games in one day and we had alot of fun. I really do like the Quick Missions as I've stated over and over. I was sceptical at first since they where low points. But it does appear that it does offer a bit of balance if your opponent does take a force that is capable of fighting on low points.
Such as he did with taking Leopard 1's and has 10 of them instead of taking 3 Leopard 2. Holding or contesting objectives would've been very different.
If this was a standard Annihalation mission I would probably have lost. But I won on objective, which shows that anything could happen. He realized after he had begun shooting and he was about to pass it over to my turn that I held the main objective and 1 more. Which meant a victory in favour for me!
The more you know! haha :)
[---------------- FLAVOUR STORY TO WRAP IT UP! -------------------]
Kommendant Baron had dismounted his T-72M command tank and he had already ordered the salvage and repair of the tanks littering the fields. Both his and the enemies. Never waste material when given what you got.
They had just begun moving into Hannover and this was most likely the first of many skirmishes with the enemy as they would have to press on shortly again. The supply line was being brought up and established. From here they would be able to strike a Little further. They would begin with sending an armoured force. As soon as Hauptmann Wilhelm arrives they would move out as strong sledghammer, smashing the Wessies aside as they establish a Unified Germany.
Everyday the factories in the Warsaw Pact produced new machinery for the front. Replenishing the tanks become easier, but shouldn't be wasted. The higherups frown upon wasting resources.
Wilhelm was only 1 hour away. He would get a sitrep and than he would push again to use the momentum created.
He would stay behind and gather enough units to begin the assault in full force across Hannovers front. Hannover would be is own proving ground. He had already successfully taken the North along with his Soviet Allies. He had overseen the great tank battle at Hof Corridor draw to a stalemate.
Today he was planning on pinning the Victory of Hannover upon his shoulders. A medal he would wear proudly. All he needed was enough manpower and continued momentum to carry him forward and not get bogged down or have set-backs along the way.
Hannover would fall to him one way or the other...
I have to agree, RiF is a very interesting mission. Terrain helped me, want to try again from the other side of the board
I just love how the 5 objective but different control options force each side to commit and then counter-attack at the same time. Even though I lost my on RiF mission, probably one of the most fun and interesting games I’ve played in a while.
@ CrazyIvan17 : Thanks Comrade! I agree that without that mission things would’ve gone otherwise xD
@ Storm Caller: Fear not my friend, I’m sure Pelikanen will give me a run for my money soon again
@ Bolo1066: Right you are my friend, they are quite stimulation and fun!
@ AlohaRover: Cheers mate! I like to take lots of Pictures for everyones enjoyment!
@ Nabeshin: Feed me your stars, they sustain me! 😀
Stop increasing your quality or I’m going to have to give you more stars.
I’m running out of stars!
Wow, really love where you have gone with the photos
The quick fights can be very very interesting to play and experiment with, especially on the smaller tables.
Great story, even if the wrong side won again!
Cheers
Storm
Congrats on the win Comrade! Recon in Force is a fun mission.
