Despite the threat to Leipzig by 2 NATO armies, Stavka had decided to push on with the attack on Frankfurt. The last attack into Offenbach by our 2nd Motorized Infantry Battalion failed to make any breakthrough against defending West Germans ending in a stalemate yesterday. Remnants of the midnight battle had been deployed to support the attack of the 6th Guards Tank Regiment, personally commanded by Podpolkovnik Boris Shaposhnikov who wanted to ensure a breakthrough in his sector.
Objectives were a local customs office and a stretch of woods that overlooks an open field deemed suitable for future air landing operations.
Our Signal Intel reported that Offenbach was screened by a US armored company and its attached elements.
Soviet Turn 1: The 2nd company of the T-64 tanks together with the HQ tank unit advanced to an advantageous position and fired off a volley of 4 shots at the 2 Abrams tanks observed skulking behind the wheat fields. Tall dirt columns were observed around the Abrams tanks, ALL shots missed! Back to the shooting range for my 4 tank gunners!
Soviet Turn 1: The single Mech Infantry company onboard their BTR-60s dashed forward with orders to ignore casualties and bypass the objective to intercept advancing US units.
US Turn 2: US infantry deployed from their M113 and scurried forward across the wheat fields under the cover of the 2nd Abrams platoon that advanced ahead beyond the field. The Abrams tanks fired on the BTR-60s while on the move, hitting 2 of the BTRs causing mayhem among the surviving ones.
Seems like the uploader jumbles the video in with the bulk of the report for some reason. I think it’s a glitch. Good report anyway!
Great report!
Fingolfen, thanks! I was playing a local club, the terrain is courtesy of Blitz and Peaces. The high tension power tower is from 4Ground.
Awesome report! Where’d you get the cool high tension power tower?
Thanks Nikolai Zhukuv!
