Despite the threat to Leipzig by 2 NATO armies, Stavka had decided to push on with the attack on Frankfurt. The last attack into Offenbach by our 2nd Motorized Infantry Battalion failed to make any breakthrough against defending West Germans ending in a stalemate yesterday. Remnants of the midnight battle had been deployed to support the attack of the 6th Guards Tank Regiment, personally commanded by Podpolkovnik Boris Shaposhnikov who wanted to ensure a breakthrough in his sector.

Objectives were a local customs office and a stretch of woods that overlooks an open field deemed suitable for future air landing operations.

Our Signal Intel reported that Offenbach was screened by a US armored company and its attached elements.

US supporting units were observed moving into the town replacing the exhausted West Germans units there.
During deployment phase: The BRDM spearhead units were instrumental in leading my core units to close in on the objectives. 2 companies of T-64 tanks, a company of motorized infantry onboard BTR-60s and a Spandrel platoon pushed forward during the night to be in their jump off positions before dawn breaks.
US units during deployment phase, US is first player thus explaining the mobile stance.
US Turn 1: The 1st Abrams platoons led by their Captain moved forward to hide among the workshop buildings and let loose a few rounds at the Spandrel platoon killing a single Spandrel.
US Turn 1: The 2nd Abrams platoon moved up to just before the wheat field and shot at my BTR-60 platoon, managing to hit one and destroying it. The infantry and RPG teams from the destroyed BTR-60 managed managed to escape their fiery ride.
Soviet Turn 1: Surviving Spandrels return fire with their ATGM at the Abrams platoon hitting with both missiles only to see it fail to penetrate the thick hides of the Abrams. The neighboring T-64s took careful aim and managed to hit with 2 shots out of 3, one hitting the US Commander's tank.
Soviet Turn 1: The Abrams Commander's tank suffered a catastrophic internal explosion from the resulting APFSDS-T hit with no survivors observed. The other hit on one of the other Abrams failed to penetrate the front armor, only gouging off a fistful of Chobham armor in the process.

Soviet Turn 1: The 2nd company of the T-64 tanks together with the HQ tank unit advanced to an advantageous position and fired off a volley of 4 shots at the 2 Abrams tanks observed skulking behind the wheat fields. Tall dirt columns were observed around the Abrams tanks, ALL shots missed! Back to the shooting range for my 4 tank gunners!

Soviet Turn 1: The single Mech Infantry company onboard their BTR-60s dashed forward with orders to ignore casualties and bypass the objective to intercept advancing US units.

US Turn 2: US Vads platoon advanced towards the dashing BTR-60s and unleashed a torrent of shells on them.

US Turn 2: US infantry deployed from their M113 and scurried forward across the wheat fields under the cover of the 2nd Abrams platoon that advanced ahead beyond the field. The Abrams tanks fired on the BTR-60s while on the move, hitting 2 of the BTRs causing mayhem among the surviving ones.

US Turn 2: The 1st Abrams platoon swinged right to let loose a salvo into the T-64 company giving overwatch to the wheat field hitting twice. Fortunately for the guardsmen tankers their tank armor deflected both shots. In the meantime US infantry that had deployed near the church had entered the sanctified grounds and used their LAWS to destroy more of the BTR-60s from the windows.
Soviet Turn 2: Objective secured! My surviving infantry from the destroyed BTR-60s braved the whirlwind of firepower hurled at them and survived ensuring no Nato units were able to contest the objective.
Urraaaah! Soviet forces had managed to capture one of the objectives causing dispirited US troops to regroup into Frankfurt.
