Firestorm: Red Thunder

Battlefield consisted of big city blocks arround the center of table, large forest area on one side, hill and fields on another. I've decided to counterattack and draw Counterattack scenario played at dusk. I chose a quarter with a large forest, my oponent decided to attack from forest in front of me. My reserves consisted of Panzergrenadiers in marders, Luchs platoon, Leopard 2 Platoon and Jaguar 1 platoon. I've deployed one M113 Panzergrenadier platoon on the attackers objective using scout move of Luchs platoon and 6 Gepards behind city area. Second panzergrenadier were in ambush and deployed on my objective on the first turn.

East Germans decided for full scale offensive. T-55 pushed through the city followed by BMP-1 recon and shilkas. T-72 moved to my right flank near the forests trying to perform pincer maneuver. My reserves have not arrived, so I shot T-55 with 6 milans destroying only 3 of them.

Eastern takns pushed further, takeing positions to shoot at my infantry and Gepards. 2S1s repeated bombardment killing few teams on my left flank, T-55 destoryed one Gepard. Again my reserves stayed off the table so I've pushed my AA to side of T-55 and shot at them with 3 Gepards and platoon of infantry resulting in 3 destroyed tanks. Another 3 milans managed to destroy only one T-72.

Enemy T-72 platoons with asist of 2S1 battery and shilkas prepared and started assault on my right flank, almost completely destroying my panzergrenadiers. T-55 and BMP-1 recon managed to destroy 2 gepards. In these two turns my reserves arrived - Leopards in 3rd and rest of my army in 4th. Leopards decimated one of T-72 platoons and Jaguars destroyed T-72 battalion commander. Gepards eliminated recon platoon and bogged down trying to change their position.

With my panzergrenadiers wiped out, rest of T-72 pushed into objective secured only by my formation commander. Hinds taking advantage of incapacitated Gepards tried to kill my formation commander. My M113 managed to shot down one hind and another one missed his target. Leopards killed more T-72 tanks, Luchs hunted down BMP-1 OP.

In the last turn 2S1 battery bailed one of my Gepards, T-72 destroyed formation commanders Marder and last Hind was shot down by remaining Gepard. In my turn Leopards secured objective and destroyed rest of T-72 tanks. After that we decided to end the battle with 6 - 1 West German victory.
