at 4am local time, a Company of T64's supported by Warsaw Pact Infantry, and T72s made a dash for a crossroads. Fighting a withdrawl action, the West Germans were forced to rush new units to the front as many of the defensive assets were erased in a blur of fire and artillery shells.
Carefully placed minefields dramatically limited the Soviets fields of advance, the raced through some local fields, and attempted an end run by their BMP2s to flank dug in infantry who lay in wait for tanks in the woods with their Milan missiles. On the German Right Flank, a duel between T64s and Jaguar 1's ended with the death of 2 platoons of Jaguar1s and their crews, who held on to the last man, buying time for the timely arrival of another Marder Zug and 2 platoons of Leo2s.
Having abandoned any attacks on the German Right, the German commander was able to shift his troops to meet the main threat, blunting the attacks and leaving scores of burning vehicles everywhere. Damaged units were able to retreat as new ones came to establish the line.
After 3 bloody infantry assaults, the Soviet infantry was spent. A last ditch attempt in the 7th turn bringing T64s into the woods ended in a bogged down tank, and another bailed by Gepard fire.
What little remained of the Soviet Force limted back to their starting positions to try again when support arrived. The West Germans were left in control of the field.
Cool table and a good hard fought fight 🙂
As well as the lists being on PDF, I would also say a bit more turn summary text goes a long way.
Nice fight
You could also try to intersperse the pictures with the text.
If you save the lists as a pdf , you can uploadcthem at the end.
Good job holding back the red tide though
I can’t figure out how to upload them.
