Firestorm: Red Thunder

Battlegroup Wolverine has been reinforced. Once the mission at Fulda was decided to be Untennable we began to March towards the HoF corridor. Command has reported that there may be a launch site in the area and we are to search for any clues as to where that could possibly be located. But first we had to delay Ivan's supplies again. With our new reinforcements we had to get the new commanders up to speed on how to kill the reds and this was a perfect chance.

Soviet forces will consist of 3 T-72's and 5 BMP-1's and must protect the 6 cargo trucks. No infantry while the NATO forces will do a hidden deployment with infantry while the bulk of the 113's will be situated behind the lines. The addition of the T-72's is in response to the successful convoy raiding done in Fulda and the Russians are starting to become worried that they have over extended.

The weather has cleared and air assets are available for the following battle.

This one took a lot longer than I expected but man it really drove home the point of get infantry and park them in terrain and dig in. Same mostly as the last game we did as we had a new player arrive. So to get him up to speed we had him control some t-72's and told him to defend the supply convoy. The added 72's made it less of a slaughter and the next game I will do just one platoon of infantry and transports. That seems to make it more nail biting.

Each supply truck destroyed was worth one VP, with 6 on the table who had to make it to the opposite side it was interesting to see it change each time.
