Dust-up

The pact forces attacked Hoff corridor from the north. The British decided to counterattack, so after the roll for the mission we started preparing for the Dust-up mission with British as the attacker. They caught us during the liberation of some small German village, where we decided to set-up improvised defenses.

Both of us had an odd number of platoons, so in the end British deployed scorpions, spartans, chieftains and a HQ unit. Spartan blowpipes started behind the cover of a hill near the objective and 3 chieftains (in the forest). Scorpions spearheaded behind a small forest and extended the deployment for HQ chieftains.
I deployed both infantry companies, scouts and tanks. BMP's spearheaded behind the hill near the British objective. One of the infantry companies started there using the extended deployment area. The other infantry started in the town securing both objectives. Tanks were nearby.

First turn:
Chieftains tried to go out of the forest, but 2/3 of them failed and bogged down. Spartans moved to the infantry. On the other flank, scorpions entered the small forest but one of them failed. HQ chieftains moved to the village and opened fire from machineguns at my infantry. As they were unprepared and not dugged-in, the LMG team got destroyed. Scorpions didn't shoot. Other chieftains and spartans shoot the other infantry, but every hit was saved. Pinning caused by this fire was canceled by my brave HQ standing behind this company.
In my turn I moved T-72's 10" towards scorpions. Tanks and infantry on this side tried shooting scorpions and HQ but missed (only one bail on scorpions). Infantry on my right flank moved towards spartans and chieftains destroying the first with massed fire of HEAT weapons.

Turn 2:
Right flank: Chieftains finally came-out of the forest and started shooting my infantry with MG's killing 2 RPG bases. On my left flank HQ headed towards my infantry shooting them with MG but failing to kill anyone. Scorpions tried moving out of the forest, but 3 of them bogged-down.

In my turn, on the right flank, I moved the BMP's behind the forest near chieftains in order to shoot their side. Infantry moved towards them firing Spigott missiles (the only stationary team) and trying to stay in coherency. Spigots didn't do any harm. T-72's moved another 10" to scorpions and tried shooting HQ chieftains in the back, but missed. Infantry decided that 2 tanks with only bazooka skirts are no match for them and assaulted. During the defensive fire 3 bases were killed, RPG's didn't hit anything, and the Chieftains failed their counterattack. They broke-off and infantry hid in the buildings.

Turn 3:
Reserves didn't arrive. Chieftains on the right shot infantry but with no meaningful harm. HQ chieftains destroyed one T-72 and bailed one another. Scorpions tried shooting one of the T-72's in the back but accomplished nothing.

My reserves also didn't arrive. T-72' moved so that they could hit the back of chieftains on the right destroying two of them. Left infantry shot their spigot at scorpions, destroying two of them. Infantry on the right moved near the second objective to grab it. BMP's moved to the back of chieftains and destroyed the remaining one. This objective was now mine. My opponent didn't have any combat units in this formation, so he rolled for formation morale and failed.
Victory of the proletariat!

@Hawk02, I don’t know which range is this, as we were playing in our local store and those buildings were there since before I started playing FoW/TY.
@Nabeshin, Yes, it’s a good point 😉 I just couldn’t find how to do this.

Not bad! Putting the pictures in with the text can help break up the read and highlight the action a bit.

I like this Auhagen buildings you use. It’s the H0/TT range of them?
Easy to build and the right dimensions.
