Firestorm: Red Thunder

Quick Mission 70 Pts. Dan wants revenge-limit 6 turns-Dan's wife wants him home before 8pm( kidding, I think )
Same table as yesterday. USA VS Russia in a no holds barred grudge match.

( daylight--US forces are the attacker)
Situation: US armor forces spotted moving west from Cologne. Tank and mechanized infantry platoons spotted. Possible ATGM units as well, moving in company strength.

Mission: Seek out any mechanized forces and eliminate these in anticipation of a strong drive to Cologne.

Turn 1:
US tanks move the 2nd platoon and XO have some shots-fire-1 bail.

Hinds arrive!!!! they hit, but only bail 2 M1s the 6 tank T-72 company fires and manage to KIA a M1.

I forgot to take a turn 1 picture....but really what can happen-i'll take more in turn 2.

Turn 2:

Hinds are shot down!!!!! Even with the XO attached, the M1 platoon with 1 tank flees!!!! The XO falls back-fires and misses twice. The other tank platoon with the CO move down the road and the CO tries to engage the Russian CO. He fires hits but the Russian armor saves are 6 and 5!!

Russian CO cant quite get a shot on the American CO-the T_72s find the range and the US XO is KIA

Turn 3 :
The ITV platoon on the hill moves to cover the objective. 2 T-72s are KIA-1 by the lone ITV and 1 by the M1 platoon approaching. US fires at the Russian CO-1 hit, a bail.

Russian CO remounts-fires KIAs the US CO. The game should end as both the CO and XO are KIA, but we both think the game should continue so the game goes on. The 1 ITV platoon gets KIAd

Turn 4:
The American tank platoon moves and fires KIAs another T-72, ITVs on the hill take out another T-72, dragon teams fire and fail to hit.

Russian tanks assault the US infantry positions-they survive the 3 hits from laws and dragons and KIA 2 teams. The remaining US infantry teams regroup.

Fun, fast game-Free for all mission seems fun-the larger board challenged Dan and he put the CO and a 3 tank platoon too far away. He wanted to hold with his ITVs and infantry while he attacked me with 4 tanks. I still get the hinds killed off quickly
