Situation:
The division's untested Czech T-55M battalion has arrived and is ready for action. Enemy forces have been spotted moving northeast of Dortmund. Identity is confirmed as a British tank force with accompanying anti-tank elements. Air assets unavailable.
Mission: the mission of the 14th Czech Heavy Tank battalion is to locate and eliminate this British tank force.
Turn 1:
The British on their right (A troop) move and fire at the lone Czech company fire and KIA 1 T-55M. The other troop (B troop) stay put. The swingfires cant fire this turn.
The Czech tanks all dash -the company in the center boggs down.
Turn 2:
The British A troop opens fire and scores 5 KIA's (wow!!!) B troops opens up as well and gets 1 KIA and 1 bail. The swingfires open up and get an additional KIA.
The Czech center T-55M company fires at the swingfires-all miss (thanks to the swingfire rule) The t-55s on the Czech right move and fire at the Chieftans-nope-slow firing-all miss. The Czech tank company on the far left says NOPE...and falls back after losing 6 out of 10 in 2 turns.
Turn 3:
The British A troop moves to the left flank, they fire and bail a T-55M, the swingfires move to a crop field, On the British left, the CO fires and misses, B troop fires and KIAs 3 more T-55Ms. The CO tires to shoot and scoot-rolls a 1, shit. B troop tries as well-NOPE they roll a 2.
With the British left essentially stuck, the T-55Ms move to their flanks and fire-knocking out the CO and 1 Cheiftan, the center T-55Ms fire and KIA 1 swingfire.
Turn 4:
The remaining tank from A troop passes it's morale and moves to it's right, through the trees-it does not bog down and ends up behind the center T-55M company. It fires and misses. B troop fires and KIAs another 3 T-55Ms. The swingfires miss.
The Czechs move the company on their far left again. The company on the far right tries to follow A troop-3 T-55Ms bog down and the Center company fires and KIAs the last tank of A troop.
Turn 6:
The British XO KIAs another T-55M, the remaining British troop moves and 3 more T-55Ms are KIA.
The Czechs KIA 1 Chieftan and KIA the XO as well.
We used M1s for British tanks and ITVs for the swingfire since they have similar rules. The chieftan is a good tank-I felt that using the width of the table and the terrain limited it's effectiveness. If we had been using the length of the table, they could have traded a lot more space for kills and whittled the Czechs down to nothing.
Ouch, that turn 2 volley! Good report, just the right amount of detail 🙂
Hello,
cool terrain and a nice, short report. Many thanks for posting.
Best regards Frank.
I always enjoy Czeching out your battle reports. Congratulations on the win!
I checked the local train store for cars like the batmobile, the trans am, police cars, but these were 3.00 each so I picked up 3 this time. A company called Herpa makes a black Volga M24 Red army staff car. But at 12.00 for the car…..I’d have to order it.
Nice report and pictures…and time travel cars ^^
good victory
Nice battle. Love all your civilian cars and terrain. Makes for great photos
