Firestorm: Red Thunder

Raining here, so my son and I set up a quick battle-the Recon in Force Quick Mission using 30 points.
A fun game, we set the limit at 5 turns and set the board up as instructed.

Situation: Army has commanded our Division to conduct an immediate attack on the Western Armies Salient at Markersreuth. The enemy has attack and has set up defensive positions around the town to hold it until reinforcements can arrive to carry on his eastern drive. Our attack will push him back and cause his reinforcements to be diverted elsewhere.

Mission: The mission of the 9th Tk battalion, 3rd Combined Tank Division is to conduct a Recon in Force near Hill 913, secure it if possible and then conduct an attack on enemy positions located in or around Markersreuth.

Colonel Pavel Durchenko enters the abandoned farmhouse just as General Stashenkov, the new division commander, is briefing his head of artillery. Durchenko receives his orders and immediately has his BTR drive to the recon HQ-or whats left of it-and briefs its captain on what's expected of him. This is to be a quick mission-get to the hill-recon the area, enemy forces, obstacles, routes in and out. Take and hold the hill if possible, but get the info back quick.

How it all went down:

Turn 1-Russian moves-captain Andrei Rossukovski moves his T-72 company, and hid BMP infantry company towards the farmhouse, while the BMP scouts head towards the petrol station, The BRDM company rolls quickly down the road to the hill. The German marder companies race to the petrol station and the hill.

Turn 2 Russian make contact, but fire and miss. The Nato troops fire back-their artillery fails to range in, but the marders take out 2 BRDMs.

Turn 3: The Russian BMP scout platoon takes out a German infantry team in the garages, the T-72's fire at the jag1s but miss!! Nato calls down artillery and on lucky rolls takes out 2 T-72s. In addition the battle at the petrol station claims a scout BMP.

Turn 4
Out tankers are the bravest!!!! they pass their morale test and the commander and the lone remaining T-72 take out a marder and a Jag 1-in addition the HMG on the tanks take down on some fantastic dice rolling the entire dismounted infantry company on the hill-I have never rolled so many 5s and 6s before!!!! not a sing 4 or below on 6 dice-the Germans roll nothing but 1s and 2s......unbelieveable. Nato takes out the last T-72 with a Jag 1 shot, 2 1 more scout BMP falls prey to the marders near the garages.

Turn 5: The BMP company's dismounted infantry take the hill-since there are only dead enemy troops there now, The commander takes out another Jag 1 and the BMPs take out a marder. We have now seized the hill and 2 other objectives and are contesting another. The Nato commander is desperate-he moves his artillery and in direct fire kills a BMP from the infantry company. His remaining 2 marders and the vads kill another scout BMP yet the ls scout remaining passes his morale as well.
