Firestorm: Red Thunder

We played Counterattack this time. I chose East Germans to get more numbers. I had 13 T72s, 20 BMP and support units. I didn't get any air because last time I was unhappy with them.

HMS suggested me redeploying everything in the empty quarter and I did it. He had many tanks in his DZ and I didn't want to lose many vehicles. I thought night helped.

However when I moved I couldn't see anything so I didn't fire in my turn. In his turn he destroyed some BMPs with Swingfire and tanks.

In my second turn I moved everything towards the objective but didn't kill anything. He got artillery on the table and killed two tanks shooting in the rear! I didn't know if it was better to use the guns or the MGs on them, in the end I decided for the MGs but only bailed 2 with 4 tanks and 4 BRDMs. But since there was no more night I would have got more kills in the rear, and I didn't pass the shoot and scoot check. My BMP1s couldn't hit the Scorpions and the BMP2 only bailed 2. I had so much stuff that I couldn't fire with everything.

In the British turn I lost two tank platoons and more BMPs and I was in a very bad position. In my turn I finally destroyed one artillery piece and a tank with the surviving T72s; and I had my infantry right in front of the objective... but they stayed pinned. The BMPs destroyed some Scorpions, while the infantry from the other platoon shot at the Swingfire, baled one and destroyed another, but they stayed. The Shilkas destroyed 3 FV432 that were blocking their path towards the infantry.

The next turn was terrible because my opponent passed all of his blitzes, so he could move in range of the Shilkas with infantry, fire at the recce with his new AA unit, and move the tanks while keeping the full rate of fire. I lost many BMPs, all the tanks and the Shilkas (3 were bailed by anti-tank weapons).

I didn't have much left and ran towards the objective with the infantry, but then every MG in the enemy army fire at them and with most dead I decided to give him a win. Sorry guys!
