As British units pushed forward to defend West Germany we began to run into resistance by Soviet and East German Armies. As we neared Frankfurt to assist the West German army, with our spearheads breaking through light resistance we suddenly came across our first heavy resistance in the form of a T-64 tank company with supporting units. While we fought against the Soviet tank company valiantly we had to pull back due to the heavy losses we encountered. The Soviet T-64 company was nothing like we had expected so far, the T-72 units we had come across fought nothing like the men in their older tanks. As we came to a breaking halt the Soviet armor company opened fire on us before we had time to properly react forcing us to take larger losses than we had up to this time. Having to report this to our higher echelons is not what we were wanting to say, we knew this would get back to the other NATO units along the line and we didn't want their spirits dampened as much as ours.
Any Pictures to with the report? 🙂
