The Squadron deployed with the MechInf Platoon, Squadron CO and XO's Chieftains and the Abbot battery and FOO on the field. The MechInf platoon deployed in the church with one of the milan teams in the steeple and the 432 transports on the road behind the Gasthuas. The enemy was arrayed as such: One Infantry company with BMP's and a scout section were deployed in the wheat fields to the North of the town. A second Company embarked in their BMP's were directly behind them and to the right. A T-64 Company of 3 tanks were deployed on the northern road with their BN Command tank with them. The other two tank companies of 3 T-64's each were to the right of them behind the woods and hill to my right and to the far right along with his Storms. His ADA of 4 Shilkas and 2 Geckos were deployed on my right flank. Our FOO was set up on the far right between a wheat field and a dirt road looking into the woods to his north. We laid min fields on the objective to our right to deny the enemy a straight in approach.

At approximately 0400 the enemy started his attack by pushing on the town with the BMP Company and Scouts. The second BMP Company moved up to the 1st staging area to our north. the rest of Ivan's forces cautiously advanced across our front on the right flank. Our recon troop of Scorpions were able to ambush the BMP scouts causing one of them to leave their track and seek cover. The Royal Artillery dropped their barrels to directly engage the BMP company and Scouts destroying the single scout and forcing the crew of the bailed vehicle to torch their ride and flee the field.

At approximately 0420 the gentleman decided to push further into town with the first wave of BMP's disgorging their charges in the town square. The BMP's then engaged our red leg boys and the recon troop causing 2 crews of Abbots to seek shelter. 1 Scorpion was unfortunately brewed up as well as 2 others who had to leave their mounts. The middle tank Company engaged the boys in the church, dirty buggers!! killing the mortar crew. The 2nd BMP company had also advanced into the town square to lend support to the first company. The motor transport lads moved around the Gasthuas to engage the Ivan's in the open killing 2 stands worth! Our boys of the Royal Artillery remounted their charges and let loose another volley at almost point blank rang on the BMP's that presented themselves to us and promptly destroyed 5 of the tossers! The Mech infantry that were in the Gasthuas engaged the BMP's also with their Charlie G's and LAW's and killed 2 more for 7 kills total! The Milan teams fired at the center tank company causing one of the crews to cower behind their tank.

By 0445 our position was beginning to look untenable. The vehicles on the far right of our line advanced all of the way up to our FOO who was beginning to think running was the better part of valor faced with a company of T-64's mere yards away! In the town square the second infantry company disembarked from the BMP's and occupying the manor house to our left. The ruthless bastards then killed the poor FOO with main gun fire from the tanks to his front. A BMP of the 1st BMP company fired on the 432 platoon killing 1 track. The remnants of the company fired at the poor Abbots causing 1 of the guns crews to seeks cover again. The soviet infantry fired RPG's at the 432's killing another of the buses. The left most tank company engaged the last of the motor T boys killing the last track.

At this point we were force to retire from the field as the reinforcements we were hoping for got lost in the dark and took a wrong turn. The enemy was able to claim the left objective uncontested.
