The Scenario is the Covering Force Scenario in the Iron Maiden Book, the forces were the one described in the book.
Turn 1
Joe - the T72 Battalion Vanguard
The recon Platoons get their spearhead moves which pull the 3 tank companies. The Battalion Commander goes behind the 3rd Company, the Motor Rifle Company starts behind the other 2 companies. After their full moment they are cross the river, with no targets.
Jorge - Queens Dragoon
the 3 Troop (Scorpions/Scimitars) comes out of hiding in the woods on the right and dash to the river, making a cross check, 1 Scorpion and 1 Scimitar fail and stay across, the other 2 make across and have a clear shot at the BMP Motor Rifle Company. 3 shots, 1 hit, 1 BMP 2 destroyed, the dismounts check - 1 pass 1 fail.
the Striker ATGW troop, in their gone to ground state have shots at the first tank company (but nope)_ they are within 8 inches; 2nd Company is still at 8 inches, 4 shots 3 hits 3 dead T72.
1st and 2nd Scorpion/Scimitar troops come out of the town and are now within range of the both Recon Platoons each shoots 6 shots, the 1st Recon Platoon gets 3 hits, 3 FP and 3 Dead BMP Recon gone, 2nd Platoon get 6 shoots, 5 hits and 5 FP all BMPs dead.
The Chieftains, come out of hiding on the Right Flank, with 6 shots at the flank of the 3 T-72 of 3rd Company 4 hits, 3 FP and 3 Dead T72,
Turn 2
Joe - "What the Hell just happened"
The 1st T72 Company shots at the 1st Scorpion/Scimitars and kill two. The Sole Survivor of the Recon Troop is out side its range so it advances into range and shoots kills 2 Scorpions/ Scimitars of 2nd Troop. The BMP motor company shoots at the 3rd Troop, and fails all shots.
The Battalion Commander advances past the wrecked 3 company and shoots at the chieftains and fails.
Jorge -- Pass my beer, I'm still alive
the 3rd Troop pass it bogs check and cross the river, advancing into the open to engage the BMP Motor Company, 6 shots 1 hit, 1 FP and 1 dead BMP, 1 infantry stands saves
2nd Troop fires at the surviving recon BMP which is within range and 3 shots, 3 hits, 2 FP and its dead,
The first troop is facing the only T72s and withdraws out of the open and pass their bog check, the Chieftains, the Troop Commander advancing turns and faces the Battalion Commander, the other 2 Chieftains advance and engage the T72 company 4 shots 2 hits, 2 FP, 2 dead T72. The Troop commander fires 2 shots, 2 hits and 2 fp and one dead battalion commander,
turn 3
Joe "there is too much smoke in this room"
The 2nd Company commander passes its sole survivor check, fires on the chieftains and kills 1 of the chieftains, The BMP company turn advance across the road and fire on the advancing 3rd troop, 4 shots, 1 hit 1 FP, a scimitar is dead,
Jorge - "I smell a British Victory"
the strikers fire on the BMP company 4 shots, 2 hits 2 FP and 2 dead BMPs, 2 dismounts make it; the 3rd Troops fires at the dismounts killing 3 teams. 2nd Troop advances and at the rivers edge fires at the dismounted infantry, 2 hits and the last infantry team which fails, The Troop Commander and 2nd Chieftain move and fire on the surviving T72 4 shots 4 hits 4 FP NO Russians alive on the table.
