Mission: Recon in Force (Quick Mission 4x4). Points: 50
Friday Night Jay was kind enough to host a few games for the campaign. We decided to play low point games and try out the new Quick missions. Having lost resources fighting in Frankfurt, we took a nice drive over to the Hof Corridor and try a new mission.

WARNING: This is a very short Battle Report.
Hof Corridor has been very busy, with RED pushing hard. NATO has been fighting hard to keep RED out!
We selected the new Quick Mission Recon in Force. Looking at this mission layout, and the table layout this looked like a perfect mission to play.
This table layout and set up was the best table I have played on. Jay did amazing Job setting up this table. Great Job Jay.
Setting Up. You place an objective in the middle of the table and what a perfect fit for this table. Right in the center of town. Then the players alternate placing two more objectives that have to be more than 16” from the center objective, and 12” from any other objective.
After Setting up, I looked at the table and said “Oh Boy”…… That was the clean version.
The Spearhead, the Spearhead, the Speared…. What else can you say?
Luckily I only had 50 Points as my deployment zone was a bit cramped.
Well, Playing in a city has plenty of roads. This means Road Dash. On Turn 1 Jay was an inch from contesting the Center Objective and on 2nd Objective. “Oh Boy" . Plus he had 9 barrels point at my way and I didn’t even move yet. Luckily buildings allowed me cover. LOL
My only chance was to go tactical speed and try to destroy anything on an objective. I was able to destroy one T72 and bail another. The Cobras came on and the Salvo on the BMPs didn’t even scratch their paint and I they took one out one of my Cobras, I think they were saying I only had 1 Helo left or I was number 1. “Oh Boy”
Bailing back in, a cross check here and there, and I was looking at the Center Objective, and three other objectives were now contested.
Well….. There was a chance…. All the stars lined up correctly, I have a Lotto Ticket, and we had an eclipse. I needed to eliminate the enemy tanks off 4 Objectives. M-1s Destroy the first tank on Objective One, now Non Contested, ITV Destroys tank on second Objective 2, now Non Contested, Bravo Company take out the third tank on Objective 3, no Non Contested. The Solo Cobra is all that is left and with one shot left I may see the next turn. He shoots, and the guys in the tank give me the hand gesture to show my dice roll. I rolled a 1 and Missed. Game Over. Jay had the Center Objective and an additional Objective.
Wow, was that a fast game. It was fun, it was quick, and RED Pushes forward in the HOF…..
Fun Mission. The table was a picture perfect layout for the Mission. It was a picture perfect win for my opponent. Would like to try this one again in a different setting.
Thanks again Jay for hosting the game a well done victory for you.
This was short, simple, and to click to even get all the photos..... LOL
sorry for the loss, the game itself seemed chaotic enough ^^
Nice table and good report. Good luck in your future battles.
Think we could get in 2-3 games in a day at the store if we drop to 50-pt max on the 4×4?
Excellent report, and kudos to your opponent
Such a great setup for an epic struggle, too bad it ended on Turn 2. A very well formatted report.
That is an Awesome Table! The perfect terrain for that game. Another great battle report Klute. I’m sorry you lost, but at the same time, another win for the glorious Motherland.
Thanks for the comments… I would say this was a 15 minute game. A good 10 minutes was on me scratching my head trying to figure out the puzzle on what tho shoot to get the enemy off a an objective. It was nuts.
My deployment zone was dense and surrounded by concrete walls. I had to divert left and right and could not risk a cross check since I neeed energy shot to count.
Yeah the mission looks insane.
any chance you tracked how long it took from when the objs got placed to the last shot?
That was a super speed battle. Almost too fast. How can you get out there any faster to contend?
Love the last photo. Great terrain
What a great map and amazing modeling. Always love a good sense of humor! Keep up the great reports!
