This Sunday at our local game store, only NATO players showed up. Based on our Intel RED is running pretty scared in this area…( LOL ) So we put on our MILES gear for some Blue on Blue Field Exercise at the Bridge.

Rules of Engagement: Since this was a Blue on Blue game, we would play, and then roll a dice in front of others, to determine who was playing which factor. Since this was his first game, I would only take a draw if I won the game to be fair I thought.

We set up 4 x 4 tables this weekend to play the new Quick Missions, and try to give everyone two games today. We selected to the play the new mission Seize the Bride.

We rolled the dice, and of course, the defense Mech Company would attack, while the M1 Attack Company defended

No Spearhead Deployment - Yeah

SonofDorms55 deployed in the Corner of the table with the bridge to defend. This mission, the attacker wins if they are within the 4” of the Bridge with no infantry or tank contesting. The Defender Wins, after turn 6 if there no Attackers within 8” of the bridge.

He nicely deployed his Mech Platoon on the Bridge, placed his Arty in the Wheat Fields, covered his right flank, and had his M1’s Peaking out to see the battlefield.

I placed my Air, and ITV, and My Mech Platoons in Immediate Reserves. Counter the Left Flank with and placed my M1s and Vads in the middle behind the tree line.

It was so nice to deploy and have no spearhead.

Since this was a field exercise, I will not provide a detailed turn by turn narrative this battle report, and will provide photos and narratives on the highlights. You must read the final narrative……

Turn 6

By the top of turn six, I was out of smoke markers. There is smoke and wrecked tanks everywhere.

All I had to do is assault his the Mech Units off the bridge, and have them break off. His CO was bailed, and his Tank Platoons were destroyed. Two of my M1s assaulted the Mech Company and won, consolidated to take the bridge and pushed back his Infantry.

Look closely at what I wrote above. I only took two M1-s. I left my third behind about 8 ½ inches back from the bridge, and did not participate.

SonofDorms55 rolled back his CO and jumped into his tank and two shots to the My M1 on the Bridge, and direct hit. I roll a 1. Fire Power 2+ and Destroyed my M1. Then of course, in pure Klute tradition, I failed my Good Spirits roll because I left behind my third tank and Game Over.

The Push to Victory......
The Agony of Defeat......

Summary:

SonofDorms55 did a fantastic job on his first command. We both really enjoyed the game and had fun playing. This was a fun mission. Look forward to SonofDorms55 joining NATOs push next week.

Time to roll the dice……

The video attached shows the final scene of the battle field and the result of the dice roll for faction. SonofDorms55 called Even for NATO, I was ODD for Red.
