Report to follow;

Despite my protests, my command was ordered to launch an attack against entrenched German forces armed to the teeth with long range AT weapons, Leopard MBTs, and air support, in terrain that put my command at a strong disadvantage. The AO consisted of an urban area, with woods around the outskirts, divided by an impassible river. Only two bridges crossed the river, one at the north end of the town and one at the south end.

Equipped with nothing but my core units of T72s, and with only two bridges to cross, the odds were not in our favor. We attempted to storm the bridges and attack our objectives on the far side of the river in tandem. We were quickly picked apart by accurate and sustained AT fire from the Germans and subsequently forced to fall back after sustaining heavy casualties.

To prevent a future defeat of this magnitude we must diversify our forces. Sending only T72s into battle unsupported was a foolish command. We must have artillery, infantry, and air support to provide for a mobile combined arms force as we proceed with this campaign.

    Still waiting for that additional report mate 😉

    As mentioned previously, my opponent took the photos hit hasn’t posted. The T72s were lent to me so I’m not sure but yeah they’re probably all from starter sets.

    It was a tough situation, and the only option I had based on the terrain and units given to me.

    Yeah photos would be great, 26 T-72s on the field! Couldn’t you at least have taken some Hinds ? It sounds like this was a composition of 3 starter boxes, but for attacking an entrenched enemy across a river with only two crossing points, I think even the Soviets would have been smarter than that!
