Firestorm: Red Thunder

During Red Army advance on West Germany, they tried to breakthrough on Ruhr region. Our battlefield consist of crossroad with some ruined houses and near hills, forests and crop fields. My opponent place two objectives, first near center in ruin and another near small forest closer to their reserves arrival corner.

Red Army tanks with dice means that it was bailed out, BTR models was BMP-2 and Spandrel models was Storm;)

I started deployment with hold Gepards in ambush. Leopard 2s was placed on crop field and Leopard 1s with HQ tank was deployed on forests in another quarter.

My opponent deployed two small BMP-2 units with infantry, unit of three T-64 and one unit of two Storms on their quarter.

Before first moves was made Red Army commander got report that reserves wasn't in battle yet. He started battle with decisive moves. Both infantry platoon together with HQ unit moved into center with one platoon took big ruined building. One BMP-2 platoon moved on dash speed in direction to flank Leopard 1s. Another BMP-2 moved with half vehicle as second half stood to shoot their Spandrel missiles. T-64s advanced towards Leopards 1 and last unit of Storm stood on forest where they was deployed. As Red Army opened fire with T-64s, half platoon of BMP-2 and Storms they achieved to destroy two Leopard 1s.

As I started my turn I revealed ambush of Gepards in opposide side of forest to T-64s and BMP-2. I also recieved reserves of Fuchs Panzeraufklarung Zug and infantry platoon take the building near Leopard 1s while their Fuchs hid behind forest. Leopard 2s moved to see enemy infantry through road. Leopard 2s fired at infantry inflicting some hits. Gepards split fire, one shot BMP-2 on edge, one Storms and last two shot T-64s from backside. Gepard destroyed three BMP-2, one Storm and burnt one T-64 and another bailed out. Additional T-64 was bailed out by Leopard 1s. My infantry bailed out with Panzerfaust 44 BMP-2 from another platoon. Leopard 2s scored some hits on infantry in the center. Fortunately for me but not at all, BMP-2 on edge and Storms didn's pass morale check but T-64s do it

At the start of second turn Red Army still didn't received reserves. Their Infantry advanced toward Leopard 1s and objective in center. BMP-2s took position near forest where was Gepards. T-64s moved heading Leopard 1s. When BMPs started fire they managed to bailed out two Gepards. Fire of T-6s and Infantry didn't made any important demage to my force.

When I took my turn I received another reserves of Luchs Spah Trupp. I moved them near enemies BMP-2. One my Gepard bogged down and another one didn't unbailed. Next Gepard repositioned to shoot at T-64s or BMPs. Fuchs moved around forest to shoot at Soviet Infantry. Leopard 1s tried to moved out of forest but one unfortunatelly bogged down. Leopard 2s again repositioned this time risking to be shoot by enemy reserves when they come but hard situation on center needs them. On my shooting step one Gepard and Luchs destroyed three BMP-2s and bailed out another one. Second Gepard shot T-64 and bailed them. My Infantry, Fuchs, Leopard 1s and leopard 2s fire killed two AK-74 teams and two RPG-7 teams and pinned down one unit. My Leopard 1 assaulted enemy Infantry but unfortunatelly it was bailed out by defensive fire.

This turn Red Army was supported by three T-64 tanks. They took position to shoot in side armour of my Leopard 2s. Second unit of T-64s moved to face Gepard. Last BMP-2 remounted. Soviet Infantry prepared to assault bailed and bogged Leopard 1s. Enemy fire of T-64s destroied one Leopard 2. T-64s and BMP-2 on other side of table bailed out one Gepard. Soviet Infantry destroied last Leopard 1s with fire and assault.

I received another one Luchs Spah Trupp. I moved them with my Infantry to engaged Red Army Infantry. Second unit of Luchs hold position to shoot last BMP-2. Two Gepards moved toward enemy Infantry while their bogged and bailed parts of unit staied in forest. Leopard 2s moved to flank newly arrived T-64. Last BMP-2 was shot by one Luchs unit and one Gepard but finally another one Luchs from second unit destried it. Fire of my one Luchs, Fuchs, one Gepard and Infantry reduce Soviet Infantry to one AK-74 team in one unit and two AK-74 teams and RPG-7 team in second unit. Leopard 2s bailed out two T-64s and destoied another one on other side of battlefield.

Soviets started turn with additional two units of BMP-2 recon arrived from reserves. Their sole survivor didn't pass morale check. When First T-64 unit and Soviet Infantry hold position on my left flank, on right side arrived BMP-2. First unit didn't pass skill check to move Blitz Order so they can't shoot with their anti-tank missiles but another one unit made Blitz move and prepared for shooting. T-64s on right side didn't remounted that turn. On left flank enemy fire didn't cause any damage to my force but on right side BMP-2 penetrated armour of Leopard 2 and bailed them out. Sadly for me Leopard 2s didn't pass morale check and abandoned battlefield.

I moved 3 Gepards to flank T-64s. Another one Gepard, Fuchs, both Luchs unit and Infantry concentrted on last Soviet Infantry unit. Gepards managed to destroied one T-64 and bailed another. Concentrated fire of rest my army destroied second Soviets Infantry unit.

Until the battle was finished Imanaged to destroied T-64 unit on my left side and kill enemy commander and his BMP. Infantry unit secured objective on center. I was moving my both Luchs unit and Fuchs trying to secure second objectives but fire of remaining T-64s and both BMP-2 recon unit destoied them. Finally Red Army took second objective and win battle!

Thanks to my opponent for battle. Playing with Soviets T-64s and NMP-2 army was kind for me ;)
