Firestorm: Red Thunder

Breakthrough: Frankfurt

The Bundeswehr forces struggle to hold the line from a sizable Soviet force breaking through the center of the NATO forces. West German forces split in twine by the Red Thunder struggle to reestablish contact with allies before the Russians can link up with a sister force. West German reinforcements are lost in the lines and must try to relieve the struggling German forces in time!

Turn 1: The Soviets on the offensive display true cunning and sheer firepower after a group of BMPs are able to slip in and allow the armored Spearhead to punch deep into the West German lines. West German forces attempt to repel the wave on the one flank unsuccessfully. The Soviet punch focuses on removing the German AA from the area to allow for aerial supremacy.

Turn 2: The Soviet steamroller continues its relentless tide smashing through the one flank as the Red Air force makes its presence known on the other flank taking out West German armor along with a few Hind Gunships in support. Sadly no reinforcements arrive for the Germans. The West Germans on the one flank do not break, but instead fight to the bitter end as their fathers did before them.

Turn 3: The Red storm consolidates its power on the one flank and begins its brutal push for the objective. German Panzergrenadiers arrive from the rear echelon and attempt to move on the objective only to be met with horrendous opposition. Formation morale holds but it is pushed to the limit for the Germans.

Turn 4: The Soviet superiority is complete as the Red's fast movers come in hard and take out the German commander. More shots are dumped into the Panzergrenadiers as a few more men give their lives for the homeland. As the German situation looks most dire and with no commander left to hold the Kampfgruppe together, the remaining West Germans are forced to withdraw and concede this battle to the Soviet forces.
