All’s quiet on the Western Front, or so they say.
The Soviets have pushed deep into our territory and are going to pay. Dearly.
The scenario had the Soviets pushed ahead of their supply with 50 points for both armies. My counter was in the area of midnight to two o’clock in the morning. His reinforcements could be rolled on round 3, and mine on round 2. The Soviets, being cheaper, had a wall of metal in reserve and wanted to use it dearly. I had one Zug of Panzergrenadiers as my lead unit, one Zug of Leopard 2’s and a PAH of attached helos in reserve.
Round One:
After placing the objectives, we placed our units. The Soviets came from the north and had one section (4) of T-64’s with the Battalion Commander and 2 ZSU 23/4 for anti-aircraft and infantry defense. I raced into town from the east to fend off the tide of Soviets with my Marder transports. Due to the darkness I couldn’t detect the ZSU’s in my vicinity, so I kept my Marders on the road until I reached the objective to have them unload the panzergrenadiers.
Round Two:
Upon the beginning of the turn, I was able to get into contact with a Zug of Leopard 2’s and instructed them to come in from the West to see what kind of forces we were up against. They radioed that there were 4 T-62’s and were engaging hostiles. Zug reports 3 T-62’s burning. The ZSU 23/4 were able to see the Marder transports and fired on them, first making the lead Marder’s crew and panzergrenadiers bail out, then the second one destroyed the same Marder. The panzergrenadiers were able to take cover in a nearby building.
Round Three:
I called again for more reinforcements since I had no way of knowing exactly what the force I was facing due to the darkness. I was rewarded with a PAH of helos that came in from the south. My Zug of Leopard 2’s were able to destroy the last T-62, but, unknown to me, the Battalion Commander was able to redeploy to the ZSU’s. I also got the rest of my Marder transports to the unloading area and had my panzergrenadiers deploy to a structure adjacent to the objective. My PAH moved in for a run against the ZSU’s but were caught in devastating barrage and both were brought down. Due to the ZSU’s taking out the PAH, my Marder’s were spared any attack. ZSU’s deploy to defend the eastern objective.
Round Four:
I reunited my panzergrenadiers in the building next to the objective, and make an effort to dislodge the ZSU’s from their position but without effect. I move the ZUG of Leopard 2’s up to attack the ZSU’s and were able to neutralize them without issue. I secured the objective, and ensured that no more were inbound.
Not a bad report! Good job in the win too!

Good report and Congrats on the win! Would like to know army lists for both sides next time if possible.
A good result, and a much needed win for the West Germans. Keep up the good work, Feldwebel.

Was a good fight, defiantly a rough handling in the dark, but im still not understanding the point cost on the PAH helos vs the US Cobras…
