They came on the same old way, and we sent them home the same old way!

I have but three orders of march!

In the last 48 hours, the engineers and transports had cleared the battlefields of all the Russian destroyed vehicles.

His first battle with the Horse soldiers of Bravo Company had been as a communication link between the company and the 1-5th Cavalry TOC (Tactical Operation Center). He hadn’t seen much of the battle just the results.

In the 48 hours since that battle the 3rd Platoon Alpha Company was found in Delta Companies area, on the other side of the Battalion battlespace! Completely lost in a German Village!

The 3rd platoon had arrived back, about 12 hours ago and were led into position on the left flank to the North of the ITVs and directly across from the Northern Village by the First Sergeant.

The engineers had prepared four M-1 fighting position on the ridge.

Major Churchill and Sergeant Crown had been given a crash course on the finer points of an M-1 gunner at the request of Sergeant Crown.

At the Company morning meeting, the Company Commander gave an intel update the Russian had a Motorized Rifle Regiment heading for the Ridge within 12 hours they should get hit sometime before sun down or early morning at the latest.

The new defense plan was put into place with the arrival of 3rd Platoon and knowing the Russian had seen their positions.

The XO tank with a mixed of personnel from the company and mechanics were to support the Alphas 3rd Platoon with it four Dragoons and Echo’s two ITV’s.

The ridge would be held by 1st Platoon use the prepared positions along with the FIST track, behind the ridge 2nd Platoon would set on the left as company reserve, the VADS would set up on the right to cover the south village.

The CO would remain in place next to the half battery that would set up behind the trees to the south of the ridge.

The Battlefield looking to the South

The plan was good until the shells hit the ridge two hours later at noon that same day!

The XO tank had taken a direct hit and killed not only his crew and him; the resulting explosion took three troopers of 1st Platoon.

Bravo -15, the crew and a few other are gone!

The Co asked MAJ Churchill if his Sergeant and he would take over an M-1 from 1st Platoon and move into position with 3rd Platoon.

He needs the LT Brown, the new XO and 1st Platoon leader, to stay with first on the ridge and second didn’t have a crew who could handle the situation.

Major Churchill said “No worries but, I’ll be short a crew member”

CO replied “Sir First Sergeant is working on that right now, you have a driver, and your Sergeant Crown can hold if First Sergeant can’t find a loader. Given what my NCO’s are saying about Crown, He can gun his ass off! Did he really go to and win the Canadian Cup?”

With that Major Churchill went to see LT Brown to get his mount, He wasn’t surprised to find Sergeant already waiting there.

Sergeant Crown informed the Major the mount was good and named Booze Fighter (written in white along the Barrel), Major Churchill overlooked the vehicle and had only one question, already knowing the answer, “Sergeant Crown would you like to explain the Welch flag? There Ok with this?”

“I never thought to ask, The driver, Private Owen did not seem to mind, He does have a request to put up their battle flag once in position if you don’t mind."

The drive to 3rd Platoons position was quick and very fast when compared to the British chieftains and even the Scorpions.

The First Sergeant claimed up onto the Booze Fighter and told Sergeant Crown to move over into the gunner seat! Their loader had arrived!

Sergeant Crown and Echo firer
Not bad Sergeant Crown! Two down! But I believe Echo got one of these!

The Russian Infantry and their RPGs took out three of 3rd Platoon M113 and about half the infantry before being driven out of the Southern Village.

“Sir, Mind if I firer now,” asked Sergeant Crown

“Fire” was all that the MAJOR said!

Bad time to throw a track!
“Sir, Mind if I firer now “ MAJOR Churchill responsed with "Firer!"

From this point on it was just a cleanup mission! 1st Platoon continue to wreak havoc and destruction on the retreating Russians

1st Platoon continues to wreck Havoc and Destruction!
The Left holds
The Center holds
The right holds
