Week three of the Monday Knight's Firestorm: Red Thunder campaigns saw a rematch between the East and West German forces. The two generals who first faced off in the Defence of Hanover (here: https://firestorm.warconsole.com/battles/tyler_mk-vs-leadgend-1502759726 ) faced one another again.
We played one of the 60 point quick scenarios available here: http://team-yankee.com/Portals/0/Documents/TeamYankee/QuickMissions.pdf
With five objectives spread out on the 4 foot square table, and the winner the first to claim three, things were already looking tough for the severely outnumbered West Germans.
The West Germans had no choice but to advance, in order to hold some of the objectives and prevent the Easterners winning early. East Germans tanks and BMPs were exploding all across the battlefield. But the Easterners were getting closer to knife-fighting range, where they could excel. And the West German advance only made it easier.
The West Germans did their best to prioritise the most dangerous targets. As T72s, T55s and BMPs burned, it began to look almost as if the Wessies might pull it off.
But the West German numbers were too few. As even a few vehicles were knocked out, their firepower eroded quickly.
With less guns to fire, the West Germans' impact on the Easterners lessened each turn. Soon the Easterners had overrun too many objectives, and the scattered few Western survivors pulled out.
Photographs of the following turns are lacking, as the embedded journalists and photographers in the West German force were last seen on a train to a labour camp in Siberia.
Looks like a great game.
I was wondering why they werent linked. Thats too bad that you cant go back and change it
A nice good humoured report, good job.
Great reports as always, but could you try and win next time Tyler =P

Well done Leadgend,
The East Germans are good socialist brothers. Let us reunite their land for the glory of the workers.

Love the kill zones!
Quantity has a quality all its own… 🙂
I actually only had 51 points on table, and even with the infantry starting mounted a couple of units didn’t fit so had to come on from reserve!
Note that as we are playing the detailed hardcopy campaign we have to map the battles back onto the nearest online theatre and in this case there was a mix up as the battle was actually near Hamburg. I chose Bremen in my battle report but Tyler picked Hanover so we can’t link them. See my report here https://firestorm.warconsole.com/battles/leadgend-vs-tyler_mk-1503929663
Nice report, fun game. And yeah thats a lot of NVA on the board
There are just SO many of them! Keep up the fight.
Nothing annihilates like numbers. No price breaks for the BMPs, though
Nice game mate 🙂
Surprised all the E.Germans could fit on the table for a quick missions game! 😉
