After the successful defense of the Mi-26, Sokoboski's Mechanized battalion prepare to mount a counter attack on a force of Americans that have received the message sent by the first recon force encountering the Polish forces. The objective for the Americans remains the same, to secure and destroy the Mi-26 and defend their M88 recovery vehicle.
Sokoboski gathers the men he has available to mount a counter attack on an American response force that got the distress call from the previous attacking forces. Sokoboski has the men both alive and wounded of Anna Company fall back to the nearest FOB, Dmitri Company takes their place in the up coming battle.
"Men, we have done well here but now we must go further and attack these Americans. We must show them that we will not yield to there will. They surround themselves with their expensive weapons and look how that turned out for them! We have destroyed them before, and we shall do it again. Gather your strength Comrades, for once more we go to battle!"
The men cheered and picked up their pace. Sokoboski said what was necessary to motivate the men thinking that this may help them think more clearly in the upcoming battle. He did not believe his own words however, he knew he was sending these young brave men into a situation to kill and be killed, victory would come at a cost; it always does.
Seizing the initiative the Polish forces spring into action. Boris Company mounts up and heads out seeking vengeance for their brothers. Dmitri Company deploys to protect the Mi-26 and their wounded comrades. The BMP-2s of Dmitri Company move into the forest, Jakub gets stuck on a rock and everyone laughs.
The Americans form up and push down the left flank from the Polish, Captain Mitchell joins Bravo Company.
The Scout platoon heads into a forest to protect the objective.
Boris Company moves with haste to the objective perimeter maintaining a safe distance to deploy their infantry in the next turn.
Dmitri Company adjusts itself to brace for an attack by the Americans as they move in and out of the forest pockets.
The force of Abrams rolls up on the BMP-2s and lays into them with everything they have resulting in four of the BMP-2s exploding, however the forest provides enough cover for the other BMP-2s to remain hidden.
The Scout company readjusts to engage the BMP-2s across the way.
Boris Company disembarks from their BMPs and advance forth into the forest to flush out the American scouts and securing the objective, the BMPs swing around to set up for the kill. Within range of their cannons they light up the surrounding area with their 30mm cannons. The area explodes into a torrent of lead and splinters, the scout platoon is annihilated.
Dmitri Company's BMPs retreat from the front to avoid unnecessiary caustualties.
The Abrams grow bold and get close to the forest to open up with their MGs while remaining out of RPG range. The forest erupts and the Polish hug the dirt, two of the RPG teams on the perimeter are killed.
The objective is secured by the Polish forces and the Americans withdraw, however the Americans now know of the very real threat of the Polish forces reorganizing in the area. They were lucky to escape with a majority of their forces.
Sokoboski along with the rest of the men recover from the siege of the American tanks as they withdraw. He looks around to see a similar sight from the earlier skirmish with the Americans. He calls over the RTO as there is no time to lose.
"This is Basilisk, we have found the advanced forces of the enemy. We need significant reinforcements of the perimeter. Overrun imminent without support."
The Mi-26 began to spin up the rotors, the wounded were secured and Sokoboski felt something had been accomplished. Although the Americans still had operational forces in the area they were in small enough numbers to be managed. It was the fear of the main force that concerned him the most, without significant forces his under-strength battalion could hardly withstand such overwhelming power. For now he and his men took comfort in another small victory.
