The brave comrades of the 204th Guards Motor Regiment were moving quickly to reinforce the attack on Frankfurt when they ran directly a capitalist force. Thinking quickly the Commander ordered the BMP-2 Companies to split and engage while the support setup to engage.

The initial fire from the BMPs forced most of the enemies to take cover however it was ineffective against the Abrams. Unfortunately the return fire from the tanks destroyed four of the BMPs though the soldiers within managed to bail out before the ammunition went up in flames.

In the Fog of War the commander was given an order to secure a major objective near the tanks while the enemy attempted to setup a forward command HQ.

(So we were using the flames of war Fog of War deck using the Free for all. We both really enjoyed using this system as it added another element to the mix since we not only had to pick an objective to make active but this then changed where we needed to focus our attention. Overall I would highly recommend to others. Also sorry for the poor photo quality, only had my phone with me.)

Soviet forces move to secure the major objective while the capitalists tanks move behind a massive smoke screen laid down by their mortars. On the opposite flank the BMP company moves to engage the enemies HQ and artillery while the BTRs follow at a safe distance.
The enemy tanks had turned the flank of the support, seeing this coming the Commander ordered the Artillery and Shilkas to displace and relocate to a safer to position. As they did so the Spandrels and BMPs managed to destroy one of the tanks. Our comrades had managed to secure the major objective (scoring 5 of 8 needed points) and were holding a minor objective while digging in to hold it (had to wait 4 turns for it to become active). However the BMPs had taken heavy damage from the enemy artillery. As the enemy tanks came into range they directed fire into the artillery and destroyed two of them but the lone survivor bravely remained to continue to support. With another round of fire from the closer BMPs and the Spandrels a second tank was destroyed. Meanwhile the BTRs broke formation to try and flank the artillery and VADS. (Sorry forgot to take a picture at the top of 2 so this is top of 3)
With our brave infantry pushing forward to engage and destroy the enemy ITVs and Mortars the Commander ordered them to secure a new minor objective. While the far flank bravely sacrificed to hold down the support elements of the enemy force the near side rained fire down upon the enemy mortars. After the mortars assaulted into the soviet forces and were rebuffed the Shilkas moved forward. Between the fire from the BMPs, the Shilkas, and the infantry were able to bail all of the Mortars and scatter some of their crews (double bail) which broke the morale of weak capitalists. With the unit driven from the field the soviet infantry were able to capture the objective. (Securing the final 3 points necessary, again missed a turn this was top of 5)

Ya I’m not used to doing battle reports so didnt think about taking more pictures/better pictures or jotting down notes. As to the Fog of War cards we very much enjoyed them though the initial consensus is that when we do random missions we will roll off as normal and then if it is one of the two missions that you can run with Fog of War we will run them with the cards.

the 25th Division puts in another appearance. I wonder what the KGB would say about that?

I haven’t picked up the Fog of War pack yet – but may do so… could lead to some interesting times. 😀

Interesting, we were thinking about picking up the Fog of War deck for more game variety. glad to see you enjoyed it! A few more pictures and some turn summaries would’ve went down a treat!
