Firestorm: Red Thunder

Situation:
Continuing to exploit the ever narrowing gaps between US and West German forces, the 9th tnk battalion 7th MRR continues to move west. It faces an assembled West German company in the area of Krumbach.

Mission: The mission of the battalion will be to push forward and capture the town of Krumbach and secure the high ground just north and east of the town.

Execution: The Bn. commander sent his BMP scouts up the road as rapidly as possible, only to be met by HOT missle fire from a Jaguar1 unit. Smoke from the attached arty soon blanketed the area as the attached 2 tank companies (7 and 6 strong ) moved forward. The BMP company moved a rapidly as possible to take the high ground. South of the high round was a small villa with a small tree farm-as the scouts moved in they took fire from a Leopard 2 platoon and a company of tanks exchanged fire with the soviets losing 3 tanks to the Germans 1. The other tank company got hit from the small farm west of Krumbach by another German Leopard 2 platoon. Artillery fired and counter fired and managed to destroy 2 of the Jaguar 1 AT vehicles and forced them to withdraw. The tanks exchanged fire for 2 turns and The German platoon withdrew after losing 2 leopard 2 tanks. The soviets lost 5 tanks in the exchange. The Germans withdrew from the town We have secured the town and the high ground which was found to be unoccupied. Another costly victory. Onwards Comrades!!!!
