Firestorm: Red Thunder

Stalemate-yesterdays result-Durchenko has only one more chance to break through. He and his battalion are exhausted-relief is coming a reduced Russian MRB and 2 tank companies are coming to assist in the breakout. More Americans are arriving-An Armored Cav Element of the 3rd Infantry Division. The 3rd of the 66th. Aircraft have flown over and given him some reliable map information-so this is Sendelbach.

Durchenko still has forces inside of town square-some infantry and 2 BMPs. And he has been in communication with them as well, they have left many nasty surprises in the town if and when the western allies arrive. He knows that the Germans have some survivors too-a few tanks and Jag1s . He wonders when those reinforcements will arrive when he hears the sounds of tracks moving towards him-he alerts his remaining men in the square

Turn 1:
The Russians scout use spearhead, the US has scouts but opts not to-the US infantry suffers losses due to the many traps laid by the Russian infantry but quickly overrun the garages, they are unsuccessful however at taking the McPizza King, The helos take out 1 BMP-1 from the scout platoon.
We move our tanks to the square and we manage to knock out 1 scout M113. Artillery takes out an infantry M113.

Turn 2:

The scout ITV flees. The M1s KIA 2 BMP-1s. One pair of cobras KIA both ZSUs with tow hits. The cobras over the square KIA the last BMP left from yesterdays fight. An infantry M113 is hit by a mine and kaboom!!!

Our T-72s knock out 1M1 and bail 3-nice dice rolling----again!!!!! a T-72 hits and KIAs another infantry M113. The BMP company in the crop field fire its ATGM and hit and down a cobra!!!!!!

Turn 3:
The remaining Infantry M113 fees, as does the solitary cobra over the square. The other pair of cobras KIA another Infantry BMP as the M1s take out 2 more T-72s.
As our infantry storms the square-we take out a dragon team. and we manage to KIA a Leo 2. Things are looking a lot like our failed attempt yesterday.

Turn 4:
The last American Infantry teams move out of the square and toward the McPizza King. a law shot KIAs a BMP-1 and the Helos tow missiles KIA the last scout BMP. The M1s manage to kill another BMP.

I look up and realize-hey-I got 3 T-72s I haven't even moved yet. Yay!!! Hooray for forgetting your tanks. We manage to KIA another M1 and the infantry in the McPizza Burger knock out the last German tank.

Turn 5:
The remaining US infantry assault the McPizza King. WE LOSE THE MCPIZZA KING!!!!! but they have only 1 infantry team remaining. The M1s bail a T-72. The cobras fly over to give the infantry some support and fail to hit anything.

The Russian Infantry retake the Mc Pizza King, and we knock out the last 2 M1 tanks. All the western allies have left are support units-The allies withdraw and we make our breakthrough to the bridges just west of town.

A gauntlet mission with some tweaking to make it interesting. All in all a great game-went at least 1 turn longer than I wanted it to-I will run a pure and quick gauntlet mission a few times over the next few days, and the a bridge seizing mission before Monday. I do not know why my phone hates picture number 4.
