It was a looking grim for the beleaguered Rearguard, they had been on the defensive for quite sometime now and the consistent fighting was slowly wearing them down. They needed to get a good win in to boost there moral otherwise it would sent most of the company into a route.

Lieutenant Charles looked out of his command hatch of his chieftain at the incoming horde of soviet tanks and wondered if today would be the day he and his men met there maker or showed the soviets what for.

Waiting till the Soviets came into range seemed like a wise idea in practice till the company heard the familiar sound of the dreadful Hind helicopters. Platoon A braced themselves for the attack that was coming. Somehow the attack never came. Platoon B fared much worse as they took the brunt of the soviet tank fire and lost both Tanks in the platoon.

LT. Charles was already on the radio calling for the RAF to hit these soviet bastards and no sooner that he had called it in he got his reply as two Harrier Jets went streaking in and bombed the soviet tanks knocking out 4 of the massed tanks. The Scorpion platoon saw this and must have been a bit emboldened and went out to try and take out the BMP platoon that was trying to flank the British position. They managed to stop the flank but were spotted by the soviet tanks that remained and were wiped out.

With the soviets now within range of the MBT guns all remaining tanks opened up taking out 4 more tanks leaving just the formation commander and his hinds who were circling the area. The blowpipes that had arrived decided that they did not appreciate the hinds and shot down all 4. The commander decided that he had enough and turned tail and left taking with him what was left of the support platoons.

Lieutenant Charles let out a sign of relief as he watched the soviets flee. He had lost some good men today but his company had held firm.
