This was an introductory game for Ed Hall, a new player, who I coached to a win in his first Team Yankee game. Ed pushed his Soviets very aggressively, but more at the US than towards the objectives. But Ed quickly broke several US units and had just enough n the objective to deny a final US counter thrust. The US could have done much better if they used Spearhead units to cut off the Soviet Spearheads. It ended up very close. The Soviets only had a BRDM and a T-72 contesting the objective. Both platoons were shot up and the BRDMs broke. The T-72 company, down to one active and one bailed tank, held. The US had a single infantry team that still could assault to get the US one more turn, allowing their main effort to close. But the single team failed to get a kit and the Soviet T-72 passed a counterattack test and KO'd the single US infantry team. This gave the Soviets a win at their start of turn 4.
