It might seem rather cliche but they came in the same old way and we burned them up the same old way.
My tank company as part of the 3 brigade of the First infantry division was rushed along with elements of a panzer grenadier company to the out skirts of Frankfurt to stop a thrust by a reinforced soviet tank battalion. On the urging of our German allies we decided against deploying inside the town but dug in behind it with good lines of sight for all tank and missile units. With the German taking the let flank as their primary position and the my forces holding the center and right reinforced with grenadiers and a platoon of leopard 1.

It was not a long wait for the soviets to make their intentions clear as the sound of their engines cranking up made our teeth rattle. As we saw them deploy it was obvious they intended to steam roll the right with a full battalion of t-72 tanks in battle columns with bmp-2 scouts out front along with supporting artillery and AAA assets. On our left we got a nasty surprise as a full company of t-64 began working their way through the woods intent on hitting the German heavy armor.

I seized the initiative and before they could advance and shake out into a battle line began dropping fascam on the lead tank company stopping them in their tracks for as none of their tanks hand mine plows. My mech infantry platoon then hit the lead scout bmp with a barrage of dragon missile fire killing two out right and disabling a third while the m901 hit a t-72 unit killing one and forcing another to bail out. Milians from our supporting panzer grenadiers took out both ZSu-23-4 on the right flank. Unfortunately we did not get of Scot free in our opening exchange as a replacement leo2 driver panicked and ramed his tank up onto a rock wall leaving his tank easy prey to a t-64 there were no survivors from that crew. The next hour saw the soviets try to ram their way through he middle of the town but a solid wall of missiles and tank cannon met them at every street and their casualties were murderous with nearly every tank company reduced to one or two stragglers their air power was burned from the sky as well. The pivotal action at this time was a heavy counter attack by my tank platoons though the cost was high with one platoon destroyed by nearly point blank fire from 3 separate tank companies the other platoon secured their objectives and raked the soviets broad side in flicking far more damage in return. Demoralized and shattered the soviets decided to break off their attack and consolidate leaving us in control of the town for now.

The final butches bill on the NATO side was
1 leo2
1 leo1
1marder
5 M1
1 dragon team

Soviet losses were hard to get a firm count with all the smoke and the unit they tried to drag off the field but confirmed dead were
4 bmp-2 scouts
2 zsu AAA
2 Hinds
6 t-64
Around 12 t-72 or more (forgot to get a full count of them)

Ill see if i can get the lists for the Russians we actually used 200 points for each side but the report would not let me type in a number for it. My force ended up using a strong contingent of west Germans to make the 200 point limit as i am short of having all my M1. My Russian opponent wanted to play a massive battle with everything he had and still borrowed 10 of my t-64 two shilkas and my hinds to bulk out.

He was not amused when my m109 dropped a mine field right on top of his lead company stalling it out for about 3 turns.
