Firestorm: Red Thunder

US Forces pushed deep into our territroy. The Volksarmee now fought on there own soil. Motivated as and professionel as ever they engaged the advancig capitalist. Socialism has to be defended.

Mission was Encounter with the Americans as the attacker.

As this was a very very Long game (14 turns) I am sorry that I cannot do turn for turn as a battle Report.

Encounter does not favour my force. As I have a lot, nothing could really kill an M1 from the front.

I therefore went offensive. I placed my BRDM's with spearhead and then the T-55 companies. Also my 1 Mot. Schützen Comp., Gvozdikas and Gaskins were on the table. Flo placed his M109, all of his M1's and the planes.

He won the roll for the first turn and the killing started...

I pushed my T-55 Forward to the houses and tried to get as much concealment as possible. But with so many tanks it is hardly possible. So I lost some T-55 to the accurate fire of the M1. Anyway the pushed Forward with glory... My Mot. Schützen also rushed Forward. I was lucky that he did not succeed in getting the A10 on the table for 4 turns. At turn three my infantery was just on the objective when his mech. inf. arrived an also drove straight to the objective. A bitter struggle began and after two turns the Amis were wiped out. I also lost a lot of stands to that. My T-55 got badly mauled by the americans. Also I got some with lucky side shots it was not enough for me. I also got my first reserves in round 7!! My Hinds arrived and killed an M1. Next turn the americans shot down a Hind with AA fire from the M1. Again...

My troops on the left flank were killed so fast that I thought I will be a victroy for Flo. So I got some reserves on the table including my second Mot. Schützen Company and the Spandrels. On the right side my infantery was overrun from one M1 platoon which now operated freely. The ITV shot down my last hind. Bah... hate does rockets.

Flo's M1 platoon psuhed Forward to his objective on my side and got shot at the side from the Gvozdikas. Do not underestimate them. My Shilkas and Gaskins also dashed Forward. BEcause his last M1 were concerned with my infantery, Also my Spandrels road dashed to the objective. So I won this game with my last men (vehicles) Standing.
