It was a fine Bavarian afternoon as the 142nd PzGrenK deployed along the banks of the Saale river to protect a key bridge from falling into enemy hands. The commander sent out our two Recce platoons to scout ahead and pick some extended positions for our troops to move into once we were in location along the river. There was a problem with this location since there was only one bridge, and the river, which split our forces in two was impassible except for over the bridge which seemed to ranged in by enemy artillery. We would have to find a way to protect our far left flank from envelopment while pushing forces forward to protect the bridge on our right flank. This deployment could prove to be difficult if we could not maneuver along internal lines to mutually support our forces. So, we rapidly moved into positions on both sides of the river with our mechanized platoons digging in to hold the bridge at all cost. This days events would prove to be very costly.
That was a nice looking table, scenic wise and you both had painted armies 🙂
Congrats on the win!
Great report
Klutavitch hahahahahaahahah
Sorry.
Great report
Good game, cool pictures
Thanks for the positive comments. I do like my Germans. They remind me of REFORGER 1981.
Some great looking painted models on that board, really nice to see! Good report!
An outstanding AAR Oberst Hunts! Too bad you found out about our clever maskirovka to use capture US vehicles, clearly the KGB must be more clever next time.
