Sorry as this report will be a little shorter than my others. It was our clubs gaming night and my opponent and I were running the game and time ran short because we were Slackers and went and ate lunch. We were not able to finish this one. But we had a great game of Legends of the Old West afterwards.
We had run the Frankfort gauntlet mission the week before and liked it so much we did it again with one small change. He, as the British, was the attacker and I was the defender. Local spoiling attack we figured.
Oberst Waffen had been given orders to contain a small Britsh counter attack around the area of Pfülenstien, a medium size industrial city, and this he planned to do.
Turn 1. Herr Oberst moved most of his force at a dash towards both objectives so as to be ready for the British. He left a company of T72s and the Bmp2s on his left towards the open area to give the Britsh armor something to think about. Brdm Spandrels took up positions inside the city. Britsh air assault lands and their supporting armor moves up. The air assault had 2 full platoons of infantry and a 6 stand Milan platoon.
Turns 2-4. Waffen cursed the speed of the British air assault, his troops were not able to get many shots at the helos as the disgorged their cargo. None of the fire caused any damage anyway. The British exited their helos and moved into nearby buildings and woods. His troops continued to move up to try and get under the range of the Milans while pumping HMG and main gun fire into the infantry. It took some assaults to clear out the Milan section and most of one platoon.
Meanwhile the Brdm spandrels had been ineffectually shooting at Chieftans and paid dearly for this. The BTR infantry was on the edge of the town closest to the advancing British armor and had the tough job of contesting an objective. They took lots of casualties doing so.
Alas, the battle suddenly ended leaving both sides surprised. The British armor was getting ready to bring it's weight to bear and the East Germans still has 2 uncommitted companies. One was T72's and the other of BMP2's and their infantry. The air assault was down to one platoon.

Great looking table! You’ll get them next time!
That is a whole pile of Soviet armour, I would say that the British player did very well to hold you off for a draw.
