HOW THE MIGHTY FALL

+++

QUICK MISSION: ANNIHILATION
55 POINTS

+++

+++

This was Frym3n's first outing with his new West Germans. Since he only has his basic set we decided to go for a quick mission with only MBT (Main Battle Tanks)

+++

WARSAW PACT

HQ - T-72
6x T-72's
5x T-72's

+++

WEST GERMAN

HQ - Leo II
2x Leo II's
2x Leo II's

+++

ANNIHILATION

+++

Frym3n won the roll to start and managed by splitting his force to draw fire against the 6x T-72's and in an amazing display of shooting annihilated 5 tanks and bailed the last.

The brave crew stayed.

+++

Initial deployment
First shooting saw almost half the T-72 taken out

+++

The Soviets moved against one platoon of the Germans, but their shooting was less effective. The few shots that hit bounced of the Leo II's hulls.

That left the Leo's II well placed to return fire and two more T-72's were left burning.

+++

Fighting to their strength, the Leo II's dominate the battle field

+++

In their turn the Soviets manage to bring all their remaining 5x T-72's against the two Leo II's and manage to destroy one and bail the other, which remains.

+++

The T-72's finally manage to fight back but they are losing fast

+++

The West Germans bring their full force against the T-72 and destroy three more tanks. Only the formation leader and one other tank remain.

+++

The return fire of the Soviets is of no effect .

+++

In their final turn the West Germans line in for the kill and annihilate the last T-72's.

So ends this battle

AFTER ACTION REPORT

+++

The Quick Mission was fast and deadly.

Frym3n is new to Team Yankee but a veteran Flames of War commander. He managed to control the battle and play to the strengths of the Leo II's.

And roll well. That is a part where the Soviets failed miserably.

GUIDE TO WRITING BATTLE REPORTS

+++

I first did this for the commanders in the Warsaw Pact which means others cannot see it. So here it is for all to see. A guide to doing Battle Reports.

+++

After a lot of trial and error I have finally got it right. It is very simple, but as with simple things, they often are not until you learn how to do it and I wish there had been a guide like this to save me from frustration at the start.

The key to setting up the report is here:

+++

TEXT
TITLE
IMAGE
GALLERY
YOUTUBE

You can have as many of each belt as you like. If you want a heading you pick TITLE write the text and Submit

It is very important to press Submit before picking the next one or else you lost your text.

Then you probably want to go to TEXT for your main text and then again Submit before going to the next.

+++

+++

From there you probably want to do a IMAGE. Here you have two options, IMAGE or GALLERY. Unless you have a lot of images there is no need for the GALLERY. One photo of a time is often the way to go. This is very easy once you know how to do it, you just open the folder with your image and drag it into the box, then you get a text belt to write with the photo. Then, you should get it by now, press submit before doing anything else.

+++

+++

From here you can add new belts until you have a full battle report. If one of your boxes is in a wrong place, you can move it up or down. Or delete them.

In my last Battle Report I used the following boxes in this order:

TITLE
TEXT
IMAGE
TITLE
TEXT
IMAGE
TITLE
TEXT
IMAGE
TEXT
IMAGE
TEXT
TITLE
TEXT

Just remember to press Submit before going onto the next box.

+++

+++

I hope this is of use to someone and feel free to ask questions.

    Nice report!

    I know the challenge with the “IPADS” only,

    Only two of 16 still have lay top! I end up taking most if not all the pictures for each battle, then down load between 40 and 50 to the report the play has made for them to edit and move around in their reports.

    I only got it wrong once……there were two linked reports…..I down load 30 picture of the US Force view to the Russian players and did the same error to the US player

    No way to fix besides starting a new report for each, of course, the location then went to lock down and we had to move the battles to a different location!

    A side note is Gandri still playing? I know Quicksilver was trying to get in contact with him

    Cheer

    Great report and sorry to see you lost Commander :/

    @Leadgend: I cheat by using my phone to add Pictures and lines etc and later edit on my IE 😀

  • Leadgend says:

    You know that the battle report system doesn’t work properly in IE don’t you? For those stuck with it you can only put text in, none of the other types are selectable.

    Great write up

  • Nabeshin says:

    Good idea on the tutorial embeded within a report. It’s good to see you’re encouraging your forces to whip up some meaty BatReps!

  • fingolfen says:

    Great report and many thanks for the tutorial. Bummer on the loss. I shall try to turn things in the sector around tomorrow.
