Team Bravo 2-13 Infantry 8th ID deployed on the hill top not far from Fulda. Team Bravo dug in with 3rd Platoon, the attached tanks from 3-68 Armor and 2nd Platoon were still in the assemble area
CPT Olsen needed to find a way to slow down the Soviet Tanks. A FASCAM mission did the trick, halting the advance for 2 turns
Having been delayed in the assembly area, 2/C 3-68 Armor arrives on the Left flank. Quickly pulling forward they threaten the Soviet tanks and support Echo Company
The Silver Lions roar! Turning the corner around the woods 3-68 fires quickly take out 5 more tanks, including the Battalion commander! (probably should not have put up all those antennas). The Shilkas and the ITVs exchange fire, only forcing bailouts (traded 1 and 1)
Soviet Tank company assaulted Bravo Team, forcing 3rd platoon to fall back, They had been under heavy machine gun fire for some time (3 turns). 2nd Platoon arrived and was able to cover the other Objective
Great report, grats on the win
Updated the Army List. I swear I added it at least twice…
RE: open tables. open and NIGHT are favoring the Warsaw Pact. 3-4 turns of long range TOW and Milan might be different
Hard fought all around! Would like to have read more text to flesh out the battle more. Nice game table and yup open terrain do help the Warsaw Pact, especially for the hordes.
Would also like to have seen what army lists were used for this battle.
Cheers
You know, I really like the drawn images of the battlefield on a grid, those are a nice touch. The pictures also tell a decent story, but wouldn’t mind more text too!
Open tables favor the numbers of Warsaw Pact forces.
Nice report.
