I played my second game this wednesday, this time versus west germans. It was the first game for my opponent and he set the points to 40. Thats not an optimum size for the few models I own but this way I could test the Hinds.

On the German side:
- marder HQ
- marder platoon
- 2 Leopard 2
- 2 Roland
- 2 Jaguar 2
- 2 Tornados

On the soviet side:
- 1 T64 HQ with atgm
- 4 T64 with atgm
- 2 BMP2
- 2 ZSU23-4 Shilkas
- 2 Mil Mi 24 Hinds
- small air landing company

We played the bridgehead szenario and I had to defend, with reserves yay.

Turn 1:
The germans opened the battle by spreading out towards the objective, a small but lethal minefield forced them to drive around the soviet left flank. Shooting st the infsntry on the objective the germans managed to take out one infantry team. The soviet T64 answering the german movement by driving out in the open to shoot at the mighty Leopard tanks. They bailed both vehicles. The infantry keeping their heads low to avoid further enemy fire while the Shilkas followed the T64 and watch the skies.

Turn 2:
Seeing the close T64 formation closing in the germans decided to call in an air strike to clear the field. The rest of the formation spread across the soviet left flank to get into firing position. Seeing the deadly aircraft the Shilkas unleashed a storm of bullets which took down both planes before any bombs could be dropped. The task to take out the tanks now fell into the hands of the german mbt's, reducing the strength of the battalion to just 2 T64.
Arriving from reserve the soviet formation commander opened fire on the Roland anti air tanks but the shell just brutally destroyed some trees. The T64 searching for cover moved to a nearby building and kept firing at the Leopard tanks.

Turn 3:
The germans kept on firing at the tank battalion. As the smoke cleared up. Just one very lucky T64 was left in the village and the formation commanders tank turned into a wreck by enemy Jaguar missiles. The soviets now desperate trying to defend the objective moving in the Shilkas, hoping to bring down some Marder. Sadly crossing a wrecked tank is harder then it looks. The roaring sound of heavy helicopters announced the strafe run of 2 Mil Mi 24 Hind attack helicopters. The shortly following sound of crushing metal and stone sadly indicaed that enemy anti air fire was just to much for them. The T64 tank luckily decidet to stay and fight, but did not harm any kittens.

Turn 4:
Adjusting their field of fire the Leopard 2 both missed the last T64. The soviet infantry too was unharmed that turn. One Shilka crew managed to drove their tank over the wreck to close up with freshly arriving BMP 2 tanks. One marder vanished but the loss of the battle was set. The T64 crew finally destroyed one Leopard 2.

Turn 5:
The germans spread across the open and unloaded their infantry. The last T64 and both BMP2 got destroyed leaving the soviets with one Shilka and 3 infantry teams. The soviets lost the game.

It was a really fun game. Never saw the dice colling this good for any opponent I played with. The game had some hollywood action movie moments :)
