That is the second engagement for my East German army during the Firestorm: Red Thunder campaign. I hope you'll have a good time looking through the pictures, comrade!

A small West German town was still peaceful and quiet, but the morning would make a hell out of it!
The American tankers hoped to hold the town with a company of Abrams tanks supported by some infantry and AA.
But the GDR commander had another plan. A company of valiant Mot.-Schuetzen riding their BMPs with some "Konkurs" AT missiles on BRDM-2s were ready to free the town from the capitalist oppressors!
They were supported by two companies of T-55AM2 panzers, a battery of Shilkas and BRDM-2 Recce, ready to scout the way ahead.
The GDR forces were on the advance for several days already, and needed some fuel to continue liberation of their own country. The last drops from the petrol station were used to refuel the BMP-1s before the advance.
BMP-2s parked at the parking area near a McDow, but knowing the last story in Niederbayern decided to avoid any capitalist drinks!
The tankers prepared for a flanking attack, ready to rush forward after receiving the order.
The capitalists were hiding behind the living houses, using the inhabitants of the town as a meatshield!
The GDR commander's goal was to capture the fuel tanks as soon as possible, to ensure the future advance, and the objective was reached in no time!
The town seemed to be abandoned...
We are under fire, kamerad! Take cover! - somebody shouted. The steel capitalist beasts were hiding right behind the fuel tanks!
The hail of fire came from every direction, all the BMPs were burning, but the company commander's vehicle was untouched. It seemed he was charmed!
The americans suddenly started a well-planned counterattack, stealing the last hope for a smooth ride forward.
Panzer, vorwärts! - the first company commander cried, as the enemy was in sight.
The surviving BMP-1s and the BMP-2s company commander, showing no fear infront of the dangerous foe, flanked the Abrams MBTs.
As the T-55AM2s approached the capitalists, the command Abrams had to stop his advance and cower behind another living house!
The second panzer company was left behind, only the commander managed to join the sudden battle, being on a reconnaissance mission. And this day he became a hero! Rapidly changing position, he noticed the rear of the command Abrams, retreating slowly in front of the advancing comrades from the first company. Quick halt. Shot. Ziel eliminiert!
Due to the orchestrated efforts of the first German socialist army components, the Yankee counterattack was stopped.
Konkurs AT missiles on BRDM-2 got a good position on the hill, coming from reserves just in time to join the fight. One of the hits caused a minor technical problem in an Abrams tank, but it was enough to make the Yankees flee the field of battle.
The town was free now! Time to get some fuel and roll forward! But not so many BMPs left after the short struggle. May be, the mot.-schuetzen will make some good tank escorts for the panzers?

We played Hasty attack, and the road net made my advance even more rapid. The first turn ended up with me losing all my BMPs due to some very unlucky rolls (one of the BMPs was DESTROYED with a .50 cal!). I lost my precious missiles on the BMPs even before I got a chance to use them. But the game was in my favour from the very beginning: getting so many models on the table gives no chances to the NATO player. It also makes you act a bit carelessly, which I'd like to evade in the next battles. Anyway, if the BMPs die, the panzers live, and vice versa. That always works. 50 pts format gives an advantage to the WarPac player too - needing one bail to make the 16 pts Abrams platoon flee? - priceless! The American player got just one roll for reserves in the game, and failed it. It costed him a game. I could fail every BMP save and still win the day 6 to 1. Glory to hard working socialist proletariate and mass production!
